Pick The Right Method

Two ways we clear land

Most jobs use one or both. We’ll walk it with you and tell you which fits.

Keep the ground, lose the brush

Forestry mulching

A compact track loader with a mulching head grinds brush, cedar and trees up to about 8 inches where they stand, and leaves a layer of mulch on the ground. It’s a good fit for pastures, fence lines, trails, views and woods you want opened up but kept.

Ready to build on

Full clearing for a building site

Where a house pad, driveway or septic field will go, the trees and stumps come out so the ground can be graded and built on. Our excavators and track loaders take out the trees, stumps and root mats.

Lot clearing for homeowners →

Many lots need some of each: full clearing where the house, driveway and septic field go, and mulching around the edges.

Building A Home

Lot clearing for a new home

Building on a wooded lot? We clear the house site, the driveway path and the septic area, take out the trees and stumps where you’ll build, and leave the ground ready for grading. Then the same crew can cut the pad, put in the septic system and build any retaining walls the lot needs.

Steep ground and big acreage

Common Questions

Land clearing questions, answered

How do you price land clearing?

By the project. We walk the land with you and give you a written quote for the whole job.

What’s the difference between forestry mulching and land clearing?

Mulching grinds brush and small trees where they stand and leaves a mulch layer. Clearing for a building site also takes out the trees and stumps where the house, driveway or septic field will go.

Do you remove stumps?

Where you’re building, yes. In pasture or woods we can mulch to the ground.

Can you work on steep ground?

Yes. Our machines run on tracks, and we look at the slope on the site visit before we quote.

What happens to the trees and brush?

Mulching leaves it on the ground as mulch. For building sites we talk through the options on the visit.

Can you do the pad, driveway and septic after clearing?

Yes. One crew can take the site from woods to ready-to-build.
